KALKAN
Kalkan is a sophisticated Mediterranean resort and fishing town nestled under the Taurus Mountains on the beautiful Turquoise Coast of Turkey.
Narrow cobbled streets run through the old town down to picturesque harbour where you can relax on boat trips, sample fresh sea food in the harbour restaurants and boutique shops selling handmade leather handbags and jewellery, hand painted pottery and designer clothes.
Kalkan also has numerous rooftop restaurants where you can sample both Turkish and European cuisine whilst watching spectacular sunsets over Kalkan bay.

Boat trips
Kalkan has an array of boats and gulets that leave from the harbour on the daily cruises around the crystal blue waters of the beautiful Mediterranean coast and offer opportunities to swim and snorkel in the sea, visit places of interest including Kekova the sunken city and dine on fresh home cooked food.
River Canoeing
Canoeing along the beautiful Xanthos River and finishing at Patara Beach with a barbecue lunch.
Berizigan village tour - Islamlar
The local traditional villages of Berizigan can be visited where you will see storehouses, mosque and village tea houses. Islamlar is famous for its fresh trout restaurants and spectacular views over Kalkan and wonderful place to experience for lunch or dinner.
Fethiye Bazaar/ Olu Deniz
The local bus can take you to Fethiye where you can experience local shopping including weekly markets where you will find bargains galore. Whilst visiting Fethiye you might want to stop off at the stunning beach resort of Olu Deniz a costal area often used to advertise the sandy white beaches and clear turquoise waters of Turkey.
Kalkan Thursday Market
Every Thursday Kalkan hosts its local market where you can find an array of fresh produce and barter for a variety of wears whilst purchasing your Turkish delight.
Kapatus and Patara Beach
Local buses and taxis will take you to the beautiful beaches of Kaptus (a small sheltered beach) only ten minutes away and Patara (an ancient settlement) and the longest sandy beach in Europe is approximately 20 minutes away from Kalkan. Patara is also home to the nesting turtles and is closed at sunset from May to October to give the turtles peace in which to lay their eggs. It's sandy beaches are often voted in the best 10 beaches in the world by the Times on line.
Kas/ Meis (Greek) Island
After catching a bus to Kas harbour the small colourful Greek island of Meis can be visited by a 30 minute ferry crossing (passport is required the day before visit at ticket office in Kas). Once in Meis a further small boat trip can take you to the "blue caves" with its two foot high entrance. Kas itself is an unspoilt fishing town with traditional shops, pretty marinas, an unhurried ambience and water front coffee houses and restaurants
Xanthos - Saklikent Gorge
Visit the capital of Lycia and enjoy stunning views from the ancient city of Xanthos, a Unesco World heritage site, with its well preserved ruins and monumental tombs. Experience Saklikent, the second longest gorge in Europe where you can escape the heat by rafting or walking through its cooling waters, enjoying an Al fresco lunch on the side of the river, a stunning place to visit.
